those rules are pretty cool, it brings the fighting aspect back to jiu jitsu competition. finish focused, not very point focused.
-
What about points for the jiu claw? That takes some steps to get to.
-
This whole controversy over Eddie never winning a major tournament is bullshit. Look at any sport...not every top football coach has won a superbowl, not every tennis coach has won wimbledon or any major title for that matter, AND NOT EVERY GRAPPLING INSTRUCTOR/COACH HAS TO HAVE WON ABU DHABI IN ORDER TO BE RECOGNIZED AS A GREAT TEACHER AND INNOVATOR.

yah I guess ADCC championship is not a top comp? What the fuck are you talking about

It's coming man! A Charlotte school is working on affiliation!! Send me a message for more info.

lol no points for a takedown, that is retarded, taking the back is as much part of the game as passing and taking side control yet you don't get points for passing. If you can't wrestle pull guard or lose points thats the way it should be, if the tournament is open to people who aren't 10th planet students it will most likely be won by people who don't train in the 10th planet system.

the eddie bravo rules are much better, good idea. its easier to keep score.
-
This guy Bravo is really innovating the sport of jiu jitsu. He´s real good!.
-
he tapped a Gracie. Enough said.
Thats why this sport is going nowhere they can't even decide on the rules.

The sport is doing just fine actually. See the trailer for Grappling Kings. Just another type of competition...different rule sets...that's all.

I think it is still a work in progress to be honest.

Could somebody elaborate why the brazilians hate 10th planet's system? I kinda wish my school had that system =/
jebus733 3 years ago
They don't...some do because they don't think the system is valid and are not willing to adapt new things to their system. Others are-depends on the instructor not the people.
