Attack of the Night Blooming Cactus

This is a time-lapse video of our Night Blooming Cactus. For 20 years this thing never bloomed once. But, for unknown reasons it decided to bloom (twice) so far this summer (My mother-in-law thinks it is about to die; depressing)

Amazing that such a pretty bloom can come out of such a ugly plant.

On Bloom number two I set up my Nikon D200 on a tripod and my daughter, wife and I took turns at photographing the bloom during its 12 hour lifespan.

Kind of like something out of "Little Shop of Horrors . . ."
