  • Amazing! I'm studying this piece with David Rose at SUNY Fredonia right now. I'm learning the first and second movements and hopefully will be able to perform them at my recital in the spring.

This movement is so beautiful and it takes a lot of concentration and energy to perform it like this. I'm still learning it but I feel so emotionally drained after playing it for a while.

    Amazing job!! :)

  • He wrote both sonatas for clarinet and viola in mind. I think the other movements do sound nicer on the clarinet, except this one. It's still a nice movement on the clarinet for sure though.

  • that's really funny considering it was written for clarinet... lol oh well. :P

  • I much prefer this movement played on the viola. It's amazing in its subtle way, really the essence of late Brahms.

  • so beautiful. i'm playing this on clarinet... I LOVE IT.
