@LukeQuietus most of judo can be apllied to real situations thats why in my opinion it is the most effective martial art along with bjj mma is just basicaly judo n bjj with a mixture of kicks n punches

LoL o soto gari and o uchi gari both work in "real" situation.u can hurt someone really bad if u do o soto gari on street.Specially if he fights back XD

This is the second technique I've seen from them that looks as though it would be near useless in a real situation. Try doing this with someone trying to grab a hold of you at the same time; pushing into you or tugging your arm. Just drill one technique at a time and leave the improvisations as that...improvisations.

never works. you don't have this time against a "living" opponent.

He's pushing him off balance before doing the hop, the other guy isn't going to be able to do a whole lot during the .02s it takes for him to make that quick little hop.

i think for this there is combos like sazai+harai-goshi,o-goshi+ouch

and its not jumping... his actually hoping in for a throw...

yeah jumping is dangerous but this drill helps you to constantly attack even when you miss with first attempt
I can see you don't know much about Judo. If you have your oponent off balance he won't be able to counter.
No decent Judo player just hops across without a good grip or breaking his balance.
