4 of 10: Navigating 3D virtual worlds

This is a demo that shows how immersive and easy it can be to navigate around 3D virtual worlds using the Wavit direct-pointing 3D remote. Example: just move/point your remote to move around, extend your remote forward to move forward, and pull back to move back. You can even use it to teleport or throttle a jet- pack or shoot basket ball hoops. You can also strafe left-right. All this without the need for a keyboard and mouse, and it gives you a truely immersive experience.

ThinkOptics has just launched the Wavit 3D Media-PC remote control for the PC. It is a free-space direct-pointing device and it will revolutionize the way we watch TV, surf the web, play games, and navigate content from the living room couch. Think of it as the Wii for the PC. It is also a universal learning remote control with an built-in IR blaster so you can control all your all IR devices. Check it out at www.wavit.com

  • New low price is $99.99 at company website only. Thinkoptics dot com. You can also read a bit more about the product at the the website called wavit dot com.

This product just won an Innovations Award at CES 2008 in Las Vegas.

  • u can actually hook up the sensor bar to the wii because it has USB port, but i am not sure if it will actually work.

  • Yes, the POD that we use can be hooked up to the Wii. The IR emitter portion and RF communication will work. BUT we use a different RF protocol from the Wii, so the WavIt is not directly compatible with the Wii as a separate controller. If you want to use our POD instead of the Wii sensor bar, it WILL actually work just fine AND will give you a longer operating range, but you would have to have a WavIt Handset running at the same time.

  • lol you missed I can see your no Koby. Nice desktop thanks for sharing :>)

  • Yes, my real life basketball abilities aren't much better.

  • it looks kinda of complicated to find certain files. :3 i think i have enough problems trying to find my car keys and shoes every morning, but it still looks kinda cool.

  • send me a message if you want one of these.

  • I do have a Wii Remote that also does the same thing. I find this one redundant, but somehow I think that this one maybe better then the Wii Remote.
