Gen. Fonseka was felicitated by the Sri Lankan community in Washington DC on 10/25/2009 where Chief incumbent of DC Buddhist Vihara Rev. M Dhammasiri Thero Iinsisted that the "Thri Moorthi" who made the victory happened, namely HE the President, Secretary Defence and then Commander of the Army, now CDS Gen. Fonseka to stick together for the sake of the country to face the future challenges. General replies to this in his address.

Comparing Gonseka to Idi Amin is interesting.

Similarity among both

1. military guys

2. had at least 6 women

3. promised to end corruption

4. excessive craving for power

5. good sportsmen

6. uneducated above secondary school

7. intended to migrate abroad and have houses abroad. one to Saudi Arabia and the other to USA

8. don't tolerate opposing views.

The biggest development projects SL has ever seen (Mahaweli, Garment factories, free trade export development zones, 1 million houses program for the poor) occurred under the UNP leadership of JR and Premedasa. It is thanks to them that millions of people have employment. The 1000s killed were part of crushing the JVP insurrection that had crippled the economy and made people live in fear of their lives. Thousands were also killed by JVP. Were you supportive of these JVP death squads?
