Disabled this feature on my Golf the moment someone came to inform me my car was standing in the parking lot with the windows open. And that was also the moment I didn't leave my car keys in my pocket during work ;-)

simple fix , all you need is the remote closure module , ask at a VW dealers about getting one , pretty simple to fit if you are electrical minded , most car alarm specialist can also fit and supply a module to work with the cars standard alarm system with out having an expensive "aftermarket" fitted .

try leaving a window open on the car , press the remote button to lock the car , keep the button pressed and see if window goes up ! also try with the key in the door lock , leave windows open , turn key and hold in the locked position and windows should close , if not the drivers door should at the very least ! most manufactures have incorparated the "total enclosure" system as standard !

my 1996 bmw 323i does that , its called total enclosure, i can do it with the key fob button , or by using the key and holding it the lock position if windows are open or in the unlock position to open all windows and sunroof !

Our VW SHARAN (2006) van can do this too. so i think every new VW can do that. and its a very nice feature.
