  • The desire of these initiatives are not to diminish the personhood, professionalism, or competency of white teachers.

They are only to increase the academic achievement of Black students.

It is necessary for teachers to be as culturally understanding as possible. Instruction is inherently cultural.

Why is this hard to understand?

  • There are no black teachers in my school anymore

  • I am white and as I watched this I was so offended. So white teachers are not as good as black's. Whites are not as good rolemodels because the colour of their skin is different. I honestly think that if people like Diane Abbott were in charge whites would be relegated to slavery.

  • More culturally literate?

    Is that a joke?

  • According to Jun '05 statistics ~ 20% of london's population is classified as being of black ethnicity. This will not have greatly changed in the last 5 years.

From the figures 12% of teachers being black seems to equate fairly well with London's demographics, correct me if I am wrong.

Hopefully, you were not carrying out any of these 'Workshops' or 'Lectures'.
