Every once in a while a breakthrough comes along that revolutionizes a decades old product. Such is the case with the Snap-on High Leverage Diagonal Cutter (86CF). Snap-on re-tooled the timeless design of its traditional cutting pliers and re-engineered the cutting surface and pivot joint to create the Snap-on PowerEdge(TM) design.

The Snap-on High Leverage Diagonal Cutter and its PowerEdge cutting surfaces efficiently cut a wide range of wire sizes, from soft 0.026-inch diameter copper wire to high-strength 0.063-inch diameter music wire. A precision-machined joint has tighter tolerances to give increased control while working, extending the tool's life and eliminating wear and looseness in the joint.

Deemed the most important innovation in cutting pliers in the last 60 years, the new design uses the latest technology and cold forming to create a flat surface on one side that tapers from the joint to the tip. This tapered design provides more control and strength for cutting a variety of materials. Thinner items that require more finesse can be cut with just the tips of the cutters, but using the thicker edges closer to the joint the tool can cut heavier materials. The new design gives the High Leverage Diagonal Cutter and all Snap-on cutters up to 25 percent more leverage compared to competitive models.

  • Just got a pair from my brother for my Bday cant wait to try them out against my channel lock style ones I like

  • Knipex will go to town with that wire.

  • i have the 3 piece of these and have a pair of nipex from an era gone by ! wish i hadnt wasted the money on them now as my knipex (years old) cut just as easy and just as neatly with no problems what so ever , in fact the only differance is the knipex are probally 20 years old LOL ... wonder if these will be the same in the same amount of time ?

  • snap on is bluepoint. still knipex is the job. the older one's i agree. draper is pure shit.

  • @dave0z96 You must have an original Knipex, ie before Draper got involved with Knipex.

  • @hartbiltdiesel Knipex when they were Knipex made excellent cutters. Since Knipex has been taken over by Draper Expert, makers of tools that rust in your tool box, Snap-On thought it would not be fair to compare their cutter to a Knipex Draper crapola cutter.

  • hahahaha my channellocks have the same thing. nice try snapoff

  • @14goldmedals not any more...the BluePoint stuff used to be Channel lock and Knipex. Snap-on is now making there own. Knipex still kicks butt... Germans got their stuff together. Snap-on has come a long way though.

  • Does Channel Lock still make cutters for SnapOn?

  • @hartbiltdiesel you right they don't include Knipex on these tests.
