August 14, 2010 rob, Dallan, and Haruko doing partial assembly of right wing.
he RV-12 is an all-metal kitplane sold by Van's Aircraft. This video shows the assembly of one wing, starting with the pre-assembled main wing spar and previously prepped sheet metal parts. Brackets to the spar, to which the main wing ribs are then riveted. Next the rear spar is attached, followed by attaching the nose rib and partial nose spar. After attaching brackets for the flaperons, the 3 bottom and 3 top wing skins are attached. About 4000 rivets installed here in about 9 hours elapsed--another 8 hours or so were needed to complete the wing--fast by metal kitplane standards. For an excellent stop-action video, showing real details of the wing construction, search RV-12 videos by gagarin737.

Great video! You should upload more if you have them! I hope to build an RV-7 some day.
