Debora Iyall of Romeo Void and Peter Dunne perform the song "A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)" at a special benefit for Paul Williams (founder of Crawdaddy magazine) in San Francisco on June 28, 2009.

This took place a few days after the death of Michael Jackson, and thus the reference to the song "Billie Jean" where Michael uses the line "But The Kid Is Not My Son."

Debora Iyall took offense to that song, and came up with this response, which was released as a single in 1984 from the Columbia album "Instincts." Thanks to Wikipedia, I discovered this song became the band's biggest hit and only Top 40 single, peaking at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100.[

This is a one-camera video captured for posterity by Eric Predoehl.

In 1995, Paul Williams (founder of Crawdaddy magazine) suffered a traumatic brain injury in a bicycle accident, leading to early onset of dementia, and a steady decline to the point where he now requires full-time care. The burden on his immediate family has been immense, and there's an effort to solicit help, in the form of contributions of any size, to assist in Paul's continued care and medical attention.

  • Billie jean was mj's response to being accused of being the father of a child that he wasn't. Not some mysogynist manifesto

  • Great song! Had a great voice but this relic shoud know when to quit. (GIRL IN TROUBLE HAS A TEMPORARY VOICE)

  • Love the 80's

  • She sounds like a natural coloratura with her own bag of vocal accomplishments. I'd love to have seen them unplugged on MTV, so thanks for sharing this.

  • She looks so serene here. Nice to see the record set straight.

  • Debora can still sing!! My favorite Romeo Void song.

  • Glad to see your still alive and kicking and singing. I loved you guys in the 80's thanks for the great songs.

  • super song from the 80's. Thanks for bringing it back and great presentation.
