Shell companies in Nigeria generate billions of dollars of income for the government, create jobs and provide energy for the country. They also spend millions of dollars a year on community development. In the Niger Delta, where most of Nigerias oil is produced, poverty and violence are serious problems, making it one of the most difficult places where Shell companies do business.

  • my research on problems is shell & nigeria & oil spills & pollution. what i found out is that shell is a blood sucking maggot and it's CEO should be hanged from the........ ( fill in the empty spot)

  • Have a look at Amnesty International's version on youtube, it documents a history of criminality and abuses by Shell in Nigeria.

Look up a man called Ken Saro Wiwa, he was murdered in Nigeria on behalf of Shell because he campaigned for human rights in the Niger Delta.

People in Nigeria are poor because of a history of colonialism and dictatorship. The colonial relationship still exists today in the form of Shell's exploitation of the country and the abuse of it's citizens.

  • @anapao89,Shell started exporting in1958 with12% as tax on total profit! This company was established under Britsh rule for exploitation of Nigerians(independence in1960). It's only a fool who'll assume that such a company is there for the benefit of the country! We see the same mistakes going on in Ghana,IvoryCoast,Angola etc..I'd suggest that Africans turn to the East!(China etc)! They've no social, cultural&educational tires with Africa.Africans may sign a good economic deal without favours!

  • O.M.G they made it look asive no ooo dey av rili of benefit to nigeria...i feel all this is rubbish, they aven't rii contributed anything, criously speaking. They can do better, billions of dollars isn't even enough.......xx....love ma country...shell pls dnt destroy it 4 us

  • ma du lita masdsisa patolis tanis ma colo niggas

  • Shell is full of BS, this cannot make up for all the oil spills they r responsible for in Nigeria!

  • a private company does not provide for the people, GOVERNMENT PROVIDES FOR THE PEOPLE! a private company pays huge taxes (which i'm sure shell does), GOVERNMENT SPENDS THE TAXES TO BENEFIT THE PEOPLE! is it shell's fault that we've had disfunctional governments these past years? Look at how US goverment dealt with BP. THAT IS WHAT A FUNCTIONING GOVERNMENT DOES! OK?

  • wow....is this serious??? Lets talk about shells exploitation of nigerian natural resources and forcing it to be a one commodity industry who still suffers from poverty, environmental problems, and puppet leaders who do not have Nigeria's interest at heart. WTF!!! this makes me sick....its like a rapist making a video biggin-up himself for raping his victim. This is bullishhhh!!!!

  • ye out right propaganda what of the dumping of crude been dumped in ogoni community like the gulf of mexico.theirs alot not been said by shell just like gulf of mexico, just like alot politics or elites been paid to keep quiet about the spill.
