Thanks for this. Came soooo close in '86.  Blew it & have had to live w/it all these years since. This song rings the truth of that year so deep w/in me. What I'd give to go back now. & hear 'Welcome Home'.

@powerlifted I was born in Iowa but raised in California but we use to go back on vacation every year to visit with relatives. That one summer i was set up on a date, i had my perm crazy 80's hair i was buffed. The crazy thing was i received a phone call from the girl i was set up with, cant remember her name however, but her and a friend wanted to come out to California and move in with me, wish i would have had my own place then, that could have been a nice time :(

Gosh Damn it :( Aimee made me cry on this one! I was set up by my cousin Jody Back in Garner Iowa with this girl who looked just like Aimee and we went out on a date drove around Clear Lake, went to see purple rain, drove around the corn fields kissed i got a lil tit action even though she said she would slap me if i did, she was so cute i was willing to take that slap for one feel of her :) ever since this song came out, i listened to it over and over dreaming of her with tears of joy, :)
