B. Martinů - Madrigal No.2 _ D. Milhaud - Duo pour deux violons

The string Duo ECO Prague gives a composed performance concerning Bohuslav Martinů and his musical and life inspirations.This concert is the first chamber program from the concert cycle named "1311 - 2011; Prague as a cultural crossing of Europe". The project is supported by the Prague City municipal grant program.
In highlighted perfomance we emerged some relations between Martinů´s music, resp. composition style, and his psychology, resp. very sophisticated state of his mind, loves and inner responsibility. The program title and many commentaries have their origin in the inspirative and multilateral writings of Czech geologist, writer and thinker, Dr. Václav Cílek.
It was shown and documented from Martinů´s diaries that author intentionally tried to seek the very foundations of the Western culture in Paris and then, to tune the unique artistic attempt in collaboration with Munch, Koussevitsky, Szell, Elman, Firkušný and others in USA.

Here are presented : Martinů´s Madrigal No.2 (from The three madrigals for violin and alto) and Milhaud´s Duo pour deux violons. Martinů was in Paris in an intensive contact with Paris Six, Stravinsky, Roussel etc.
In first part were used the pictures of the Czech lanscape - authors A. Slavíček, O. Bubeníček, F.C.Jelínek, J. Odvárka, F. Kaván.
In the second one you can see the Paris paintings of V. Gogh, T. Williams and W. Kandinsky.
