  • Traded a single shot shotgun for mine .

  • @Navlek79 How will it fit in the sheath...? i don't think they are wrong.

  • scene- 2 drunk marines (i know, that's hard to believe ) one with a buck master and the other with a equivalent sized Gerber decide the only way to determine which knife is superior is to clash them together like mid-evil swords !result - Gerber lost a 1/2 " chunk of steal half way up the blade and I was able to file out a 1/32 " nic out of my Buck-Master ,which is still in service 25 years later !o-yes no fingers where lost that night, only a few unnecessary brain cells .

  • It looks like plastic. But it gets worse. However I will not waste my time.

  • The knife seemed durable. It had a couple of problems - it would tear the skin off your hands in hard work, solution - wear gloves; and the grappling hooks are not a safe working tool. It has a hefty weight, and worked well - if one wants to pack the weight. The top section was meant to stab through the skin of an aircraft/helo and cut an escape exit in an emergency, the serated edge was for cutting wet manil or nylon rope/line; the point is self expanitory. Knife worked well for intended use.

  • I think I read an old article in Soldier of Fortune about this knife snapping easily in a vice test. But only an idiot would do that. I held it once and I loved the weight of it and its thickness. It's a really cool knife.

  • There were fakes out there. Chinese I think. There is a site dedicated to this knife that shows 1 or 2 pics of SEALS with the knives on a fast boat. It is a cool knife but mine doesn't come out to play anymore as it is just too expensive and will only increase in value.

  • The "spiky horns" r in the right position and they r not arrow heads. This knife was designed to the navy seals and the spikes were to used...if u were a brave person....as a grappling hook and are normally kept in the pouch with a compass. I'm not so sure I would use them as such. If u have a real one it won't break. They were last made in the late 80's I think. I got mine at the px in 29 palms back in 1987. The compass is small but a good one. Swiss built. A real Buckmaster now goes for 500.00

  • @Navlek79 their arrow heads btw

  • This is more of a valuable collectors piece for Buck enthusiasts. All knives have their limitations in real use, I broke and seen more snapped kabars than any other knife. Though admittedly, they would be considered abused.
