In 1979, an assistant by the name of Lloyd Carr came in under Bo Schembechler's wing to coach the Defensive Backs in Ann Arbor. Bo promised Illinois that it would be the biggest mistake they ever made. Granted Illinois didn't exactly establish prominence in the world of College Football since the event. But Carr was around a long time. In fact, Carr stuck around and was successful enough to eventually be named Head Coach of Michigan in 1995.
