"The concept of a compensator, or muzzle brake, is well understood by anyone who has fired a weapon that has a high amount of felt recoil. Often overlooked, however, are the lower recoiling weapon systems such as the M4 and AR15s, with some less-informed people saying you need to hit the gym harder if you can't shoot with 5.56. Rounds on target count, and the more the weapon recoils, and the higher the barrel raises, the longer you are off target, which slows down your follow-up shots. Any of us can "handle" the recoil of a M4 or AR15, but the smart ones prefer to use the weapon system as effectively as possible. Good stance and grip on the weapon are aids in shooting, but without question, compensators reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise." - http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gearscout/2010/05/24/rainier-arms-xtc-xtreme-t...

  • Looks cool... did you notice any difference in noise?

  • @jeffshootsstuff - I could not notice any difference in how loud it was by wearing standard 32db ear plugs... I usually wear electronic muffs when I shoot, but was wearing plugs this day. From what I gather, it's usually people standing behind the shooter or to the shooter's side that will say a rifle is louder due to the brake vs. an A2 flash hider.

  • @liberty057 How do you setup The Rail Interface System on a M4A1? Do you need to take off the Original M4 Handguard?

  • @Jrto93 It depends on what type of rail you are installing and how your rifle is set up... A free-float handguard typically requires gunsmithing, there are mand 2-piece rails out there that you can install quickly. For free-float rails, I recommend LaRue Tactical or Daniel Defense. For a good 2-piece non-free float I recommend the Daniel Defense Z CAR rail system. Do some research around the web, there's alot of information out there...

  • WHAT SIZE AMMO? .223?

  • What trigger are you using?

  • stock trigger?

  • I just installed mine yesterday. Can't wait to try it tomorrow. The post/video was great.

  • Nice demo/review.

  • Nice shooting. Informative video too...

Do you feel much of a "Concussion" on your face when firing? I noticed while using a PWS FSC-556, not only was it painfully loud without ear pro, but it gave off lots of backblast towards the shooter. God forbid if you have to discharge it in a confined space like a bedroom!

  • So for example for the Colt M4A1 Standard, to Apply the Daniels Defense Omega Rail™ 7.0 (Carbine) ill have to send it to gunsmith or just take Upper Receiver off and handguard and apply it?
