Lightning strikes very close to us on a storm chase in western Illinois. Unfortunately I moved the camera seconds before and the actual bolt is not seen on screen. The snap/click heard before the thunder is the electrical current of the bolt, similar to the sound you hear when your finger is shocked while touching something. When you hear this sound, you are too close!
Too close. Very lucky.

This is not a fake, I saw a lightning flash. I agree that it's hardly visible, but it's possible to notice it. If the environment is too bright, you're often unable to record the flash. I know because I tried to record a thunderstorm with bright clouds but close lightning strikes. So stop yelling that's fake, because you can't prove it.
The video is real.

@prairiestormwx great light strike clip. You can't really see the lightning strike unless you look real close at the rear of the parked car there. But you can hear the sparking sound just before the thunder clap!
And as far as that clown "ihavealotoffunnyfavz" he's just your typical youtube troll!!
