i just tuned my snare drum with this same method and it sounds terrible, what can i do?

If your need good basic tuning advise, Google the drum tuning bible. Very solid advice for all drummers but tuning is personal and is a true art.

@paistekid Weckl talked about this awhile ago. Solid advice since a metal drum key could dent your bearing edge if not struck with care.

Thanks for the video, I am very new to drums, I recently bought an old set of Pearl Forum drums and the snare sounded terrible, now it sounds amazing!!
