A novel ferrofluidic pump...The main idea is to move a small amount of liquid in a glass channel by exploiting an electromagnetic actuation system distributed along the pipette. The working material adopted to actuate the pumping mechanism is a colloidal suspension of magnetic particles known as Ferrofluid

  • I've already characterized it in terms of drop pressure and flow rate. Results are issued on the ieee-imtc2007 conference and in IEEE transaction too :)

  • It is really a nice application for which ferrofluid is still rarely used.

With some improvement of parameters like pressure it will have it's advantages.

  • yes i have studied on ferrofluidic sensors too.

I' ve see your site and i' m interested to know more about your activities, therefore if you want we can talk about the possibility to use ferrofluid for commercial application :D
