Even if it's not nearly as drastic as some people make it out to be, there's still a shitload of other reasons so reduce our fossil feul consumption besides global warming. While I don't agree with some of the overdramatization of global warming, or with some of the ways ppl have capitalized on it, what I think this has done at least is raise consumer consciousness and in turn raised the cheapness/quality of alternative fuel vehicles, and I see no real downside to a future of electric cars.

Running on feasible, renewable resources, that is. None of that corn ethanol or hydrogen fuel cell bs.

Also, just another thought: If all the world's oceans suddenly evaporated and all the animals die as some sort of hellish, catastrophic result of global warming, however ridiculous this is, I would want to make sure that humans played no part in it. Or I'd at least be able to say that we tried.
