Sanjaya: Besame Mucho

Sanjaya Malakar sings "Besame Mucho." His sister Shyamali is in the audience with their mother, who is sitting on the other side of two scruffy guys. One is wearing a red shirt with white Urdu script, which says "Tides," which I believe is a brand of household appliances sold in Pakistan. That shirt might be a soccer, field hockey or cricket jersey.

Sanjaya is the only contestant who sang a song with more than two words of Spanish. The theme was "Latin Night."

Why did Simon and the judges put him through all the rounds to become one of the top 12.....then proceed to tell the boy he COULDN'T SING. I find that very wrong. Sanjaya has a kind heart, and at 17 he sang this song fairly well.
