An interesting aside - it ran on the flat following its CH victory and wrongly carried a group one penalty. An interpretation of this run through Freedom Cry would have had Alderbrook close to Arc winning class on his day. Not many hurdlers can claim that.
Thanks for posting. I was a young lad in the Navy and really liked the horse on the flat. I had heard it schooled very well and had £10 @ 50/1 ante post before its Champion hurdle prep - not only that I persuaded three non racing pals to have £5 each. I was a hero for the day after it strolled on up the hill. Unfortunately in the years after my stakes have got bigger, the prices shorter and the successes fewer.
