If you say 'fairtrade' to most Americans they won't understand it. Same for organic. Fairtrade means it's moral/ethical for the Americans who are wondering what Gummyali meant.

even when people know what free trade means it's very difficult to sell a chocolate bar for $6 when it's right next to one that's $1 - just like organic - my wife buys organic everything possible - she pays twice or three times the money for organic produce, and i have to throw it out because it's rotten, of course it's because not enough people buy it, but then i'm added to the list since i've shopped in dozens of grocery stores in georgia and nc and organic produce is nearly always inferior
