PLEASE LET ME SORRY! Mistakingly slowed version. This should be deleted but I decided to remain this upon request and for my guilty pleasure. Sorry Mary...
Original Lyrics in English Version. Enjoy Mary's sweet and beautiful voice. This is included Mary's herself compilation "Those were the days". Slower version, easy to listening to but somehow lacking sweetness.
Just my mistake. Both were from one same sauce.
I am not familiar to the mixture software then the whole period is 120%-rate slowly played in this version. I listened to this repeatedly that made me this correct, since Mary's voice was sweet enough and of her own in this version...
Please apologise.
Mary sitting on a blue round sofa of beads is the correct one.

  • Actually the French version is the original that came out first, by a French singer named Gilles Marchal who had a bit of success around 1969-70. His singing partner of the time was Martine Habib, a name you'll find in the composing credit, along with Bernard Estardy, who used to be France's #1 recording engineer in the 70s.

  • Thank you for the valued information,

    PapillonJunkie. I didn't know it.

    Tommy

  • This is absolutely different recording. Some rare special versions are always included in CD of Japanese Pressing.

  • Mary's CD "Those were the days" were issued twice in Japan, 1)is at 1995 and 2)is at 2005 -Limited-sale ver. Few of 1) are available even now but 2) are sold out. This slideshow music was taken from 1). You can enjoy as same as this just play slow.

I now remember that in those days (1960s) we played music on an old record player which had play speed adjustment lever. I used to play slower so that I was able to understand meaning sang in English...How nostargic memories!

  • This video had us getting all our old vinyl, demos, boots etc out of storage! LOL

We are not sure this is an alternate version, we think this is just "slowed down"

  • Very sorry to have made trouble you!, Pat.

JUST MY MISTAKE. I KNOW THIS IS JUST "SLOW DOWN BY 20%". Reason is wrote in the video info. section. I realized the mistake, then I immediately uploaded correct one (with Mary sitting on a blue round beads scandinavian taste sofa) and deleted this.

    Again uploaded by request.

These two were taken from "Those were the days" CD released in Japan from Toshiba-EMI 1995, bought in this April at a major CD store, an authorized product.

  • We had a really old "radiogram" when I was a child, but it went faulty, the turntable broke. "think about your children" was released and I remember running home really excited and could'nt wait to play it, I put it on the turntable, placed the needle on the record and pushed it around with my finger !!!! LOL

  • No, not this particular one anyway, yes I agree many different recordings surface all the time.
