What Croco implied by "See ya!" was that he conned you if you bought the Royal Dress. It's actually weaker than the Fire Dress.

I can see the conning on price maybe, but the Royal Dress gives +48 defense and +24 magic defense, while the Fire Dress only gives +42 defense and +21 magic defense.

After you defeat Magikoopa, naturally, he wont show up to materialize the enemies in the battle doors. They just...appear.

of course you hate fighting dragons. Who doesn't? I mean they are built for battle and are powerful. I love dragons too. I prefer to have dragons fighting on my team as my partner than to be fighting against dragons because they are always the toughest character in the game no matter which side they are on.
