280 Adams Groundwater MTBE 280 LD Public Trust Groundwater

March 31, 2009 Representative Herb Adams of Portland gave testimony to the 124th Legislature's Joint Standing committee on Natural Resources. He spoke in favor of LD 837 and "act to Protect Maine's Groundwater" and the importance of providing policy space and flexibility in policy rules.

"notwithstanding any other provision of law, the people of this state have the same common interest in groundwater as in fresh surface waters. Groundwater is due all the same protections as fresh surface waters in the lakes and streams of this state.
