Heather Michele O'Rourke (Carol Anne Freeling)
Poltergeist 1982 / Part - "They're here."
Steven Spielberg (Story)
Release Date: 19 August 1982
Company: Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM).

In her signature moment, Carol Anne once again suddenly awakens to the signed off, ominously glowing TV set in her parents' bedroom where she is spending the night along with her older brother, Robbie (Oliver Robbins). She crawls slowly to the whispering screen, extends her arm and is the sole, awe-struck witness to a strange green light hovering over her and her parents' bed as it burrows a hole into the wall. A quake results, waking up the rest. Carol Anne then says, in an eerie, matter-of-fact tone, "They're here."

  • All this could have been avoided, had she just turned the TV off before going to bed, like her mom told her to.

  • @pdebie1982 Being in my early teens, I wasn't able to experience this film in the 80s. And it scared the crap out of me, when I saw it recently. It definitely had stood the test of time.
