@Zhoomification There are not. Effectiveness trials are compared to persons who do not recieve psychotherapy. Hence, the significant reduction in depression further shows just how much worse someone is who doesn't see a professional. "Helped in some way," helped how? Telling someone "it will pass," "just hang in there," yada yada doesn't do much for people who cannot get out of bed in the morning, have no appetite, and want to end their life. Crossing boundaries here.
@TheNYCDreams There are other environmental and psychological factors that could cause the intervention, plus therapy to fail as well, sometimes even doing more bad than good.
In all essence, if the kid is helped in some way, then who are we to complain? There is no point to argue over a kid who is suicidal, that's how the kid BECOMES suicidal in the first place.
In a place of anonymity, the Internet is really good at helping someone who obviously doesn't want to be known to be "unstable".
@Zhoomification That is 100% incorrect. Clincial depression subsides within a few weeks of psychotherapy and even in less time for combined intervention with medication. That"slip of paper" is five additional years of grad school and three interships, so yes that cetifies him. It is a serious illness with biological factors with which only a professional can intervene. If you think that "Woody" should be having suicidal pre-teens sending him letters, then good lord.
@Zhoomification Yes it is. If someone is suicidal, they should be getting professional help not sending letters to some mid-aged dude who plays Call of Duty.
@Hirohamster2 My point is that a grown man who plays video games for a living should not be inviting personal letters from 12 year olds on bloody ejaculate and suicide, then giving advice on it. It is extremely simple.
@TheNYCDreams Besides, those titles aren't jokes or anything, they're the title because those are the problems he gives his opinion on. I don't think we should live in a world where we need to hide the fact we have bloody ejaculate or suicide, as a sufferer of depression I feel the best way to help that issue in particular is to talk about it. It's not like he picks the worst letters, he picks the ones that he can offer good advice on and THEN makes a suitable title to describe the video.

@TheNYCDreams And what is professional help per chance?
Paying 100 dollars a week, sending your kid to talk to some older man who has a slip of paper who certifies him to help you?
Professional help, really, is any help that is given by someone who has went through it before.
Woody has attempted suicide before, so he's better off than some 50 year old psychiatrist who you have to pay for AND don't know any thing about.

@TheNYCDreams Sometimes the best advice is from someone you trust or has been through it.
It's never that simple sometimes.
