  • that was great. thank you.

  • @globalnettuber True, though they changed it to 491 in 2003 because of the demonic associations and because people kept stealing signs.

  • @88mphsss Some portions were converted directly into Interstates 55/44/40/15/215, retained as frontage roads of those freeways, or serve as Interstate "business routes" through cities and towns. Other parts were converted into state highways; some sections of US 66 in CA, AZ, OK, and MO are now called (state) 66. Some sections are crumbled/gone, but many of those were already abandoned by realingments of 66 between 1926 and the final 1985 decomissioning. Check historic66 . c0m.

  • @globalnettuber Thanks.

  • Early in the video, they showed a picture of the historic old Federal Courthouse in St Louis where a slave named Dred Scott unsuccessfully sued for his freedom in 1857. But they incorrectly identified it as the Missouri state Capitol which is not near Route 66.

  • @TheCountAlucard One of the shots of red rocks looked like Palo Duro Canyon, south of Amarillo, TX.

  • @herringfly 163 was not part of Route 66. The old Route 66, and now I-40, ran south of Monument Valley through the Navajo reservation in eastern Arizona. Monument Valley was an interesting side trip for travelers on Route 66.

  • @ArieeShadow8 There was another highway designated Route 666. People used to joke about that one as the devil's highway.

  • Blazes! I ended up here.

  • the best ;;;
