Yi Guren ("Remembering an Old Friend") was brought to light by Peng Zhiqing in the 1930s, and promptly took the qin world by storm. It now features in almost every player's repertoire, its simple and direct emotional appeal contrasting with the heavy literary and philosophical load carried by most pieces. The composition is extremely subtle both melodically and rhythmically, making rich use of neutral modalities and sections of alternating compressed and relaxed phrasing.

For how long have you played this instrument? It sounds very nice and i like how you stroke the strings with such a gentle touch.

so desolate... with your playing, i see dark night, bright full moon sits on willow's branch, and clouds slowly floating by... My favorite part is from 4:41-6:26, feel like something is tugging at heart.... Quite beautiful overall.

I think so too,the other pieces are a bit slow. This song and one of Theowind's are selected in my playlist as young GuQin player representative.

This is my favorite out of your 5 clips! I truly feel your thoughts, feelings, and emotion in this piece. I love the ambiance that you create - it touches my heart. There are many who can play this piece but very few can articulate the feelings/thoughts + create the ambiance as you do. Bravo!
