@mrxbrightside is expensive and they have many electrical problems and it will do 50mpg only in the highway at 60 plus the bad smell and the sound is bad
also diesel is more expensive

@tinleo333 how is it a 2nd hand Golf TDi expensive? And that will do 50+MPG all day long.

Hey Scotty, I just bought a used Acura TL 2003 at the local car dealership which has been inspected and cleared for problems. However, despite my good driving habits I am only getting around 6 miles to the gallon and I can almost see my gas gauge go down. Also, I checked under my car for gas leaks and found none. What could be the problem? By the way, EPA estimates 17 city and 27 highway for this car. I know I'm not driving in ideal conditions but it still shouldn't be that low. Please help.

Or get a TDI and its win-win ;)

@scottykilmer I put one in my car and its working fine. Its a 1989 ford crown victoria with a 5.0L. Without the HHO generator I get 21-22 MPG and with the generator its 23MPG.

Hey, Scotty. How about a few videos on what to do when hybrids break down. My wife's lexus manual says they need a flatbed to tow -- any way around that? Any simple roadside repairs unique to hybrids that might help in a pinch? How does boosting work for hybrids?
While you are at it, how about some advice regarding ABS brake systems.
Cheers, thanks.
Dave

Hyrbrid cars are cars that use BOTH electrical motors AND gasoline motors to run the drive wheels. In the case of the Ford I had, which is a Toyota design, there is a small four cylinder engine AND an electrical motor that run the wheels. The main computer decides which drive system to use for which conditions you're driving in. Scotty Kilmer

Check out the over 200 videos here on hydrogen converters...you can buy them on ebay and they are fairly easy to install. A small amount of hydrogen is released and put into the intake of the internal combustion engine.

Do not listen to paramind, he or she is in a pyramid scheme. EVERY TIME the price of gas gets high, snake oil salesmen start selling that stuff. NONE of it works, and this comes from me, a mechanic for the last 40 plus years. I've seen it all and some of it makes me mad. Don't throw your money away, all those "hydrogen" scams go against the laws of physics. Hydrogen cars themselves can work, but hydrogen isn't easy to create. Scotty Kilmer

Sorry but 32 MPG is terrible. Why spend all that money developing hybrids if they only get 32 MPG anyway? Waste of resources. I would expect every new car built today to get at least 50 MPG minimum. My car does 52 MPG round town and 78 MPG on a long run and thats just a normal diesel car.

I agree with the mileage being poor for a hybrid, but for an SUV that in town gas mileage is as high as they come. If people demand to drive SUVs (I don't personally) they may as well get 32 instead of eight miles per gallon. And as for hybrids not making monetary sense, that's not really true. IF you do a lot of city driving, they will get over twice the gas mileage of a non hybrid (I'm driving a Prius today and it gets over forty miles per gallon in town.) It just depends on how you drive.
