  • cf1970,do you by chance have anything on his rivals Bold Ruler and Gallant Man? That would be wonderful if you do,I feel people should see on video all of these top class horses.

  • Round Table is another great that impresses me very, very much. Hickory is the perfect way to describe him, on the track, and for living to the ripe old age of thirty three.

I have Gallant Man's 1957 Travers; I've just made it public.

  • Wow ! What a gorgeous and powerful horse to say the least !

    Enjoyed it !

  • Heya Jazzy, you are most welcome! Hope you are having a good weekend.

    God bless.

  • I actually got the chance to meet and briefly converse with Phil Georgeff once. Such a nice man, and his "Here they come spinning out of the turn" is one of my favorite calls ever.

  • i have a brood mare with round table in her bloodlines!

  • Thank you so much for posting so much footage of the best grass horse that ever lived. Dear old Round Table -- he's so funny, running up, bowing and shaking his head at the groom. The Hancocks had him in the pasture right behind their house after he was pensioned they loved him so much. Did you know that he and Bold Ruler were born on the same farm on the same day? What magnificent configuration of stars and planets and galaxies presided over their birth?

  • Aw!! This is my horses granddad. My boy wasn't much of a racer (only got 3rd twice), but he's a great hunter jumper now :)

  • NOBODY CAN CUT IN AND OUT OF LANES LIKE THE SHOE , ...... NOBODY !

  • I love Round Table, he was a wonderful story from start to finish. Those old meanies would pile on more weight and he would go out and break another record.haha:) He was extraordinary, no doubt about it. This clip is great CF but are there no races of his on here? I can't find any. Thanks for all you do for us fans:)

  • great video, thanks

  • Secretariat used to race his Uncle Round Table in their paddocks at Claiborne Farm. Musta been fun to watch!

  • J'adore ce cheval qui fera plus tard un étalon extraordinaire. Une légende.

  • This is a reply to phddddd, who sent in an admirable posting. I too, was a youngster growing up in S. California, and warmingly my father taking me to Hollywood Park, on Saturday afternoons. I loved this great champion, Round Table. For his great grit, determination to win, and overcome the worst of adversity, especially the weights he was constantly burdened with, there has never been a champion, to compare with this thoroughbred. He should have placed much higher than 17th on alltime list

  • Round Table, my first love! My dad used to take me out of school to head for the races in Southern California. It didn't take long for me to figure who was King of the Hill. Yet, Shoemaker would always favor Gallant Man over Round Table, and I don't think I ever saw Round Table beat Gallant Man. Man, those were the days of some great racing heros.
