This rare trailer features several deleted scenes from the movie including the Battle of Antietam scenes in the Miller Cornfield, the 20th Maine, and a theater scene featuring the characters of John Wilkes Booth and Abe Lincoln. Perhaps someday the full director's cut will be released. Until then, enjoy.

  • Wow. I still hope someday they'll release a DVD set of the movie as it was originally cut. I feel badly for all the re-enactors who showed up without pay for the Sharpsburg scenes, only to have that entire part of the movie cut out and lock away somewhere...

  • @Willysmb44 I think they are waiting until the 150 Anv. of the beginning of the Civil War. Directors Cut of Gods and Generals and Gettysburg should come out then, hopefully.

  • To anyone who has the Director's Cut. Please put it up on youtube.

  • @tacoface89 There was a youtube video of it from the 150th Anv version that included a dew deleted scenes from the movie but I think it was taken down because now I con't find it now, although it wasn't even close to showing the battle and only showed the cornfield which wasn't really that great a scene eather.

  • they should have had the battle antietam in the film it was one of the most important fights in the war

  • @TheCrazyBelgians im Northerner and I find this movie great... and we arent the only ones biased... everyone has at one point been biased in there life

  • thre is a dvd for it i have it

  • 0:33-0:42

sounds a lot like the Apollo 13 film score

  • @rockndude87 The battles scenes they showed in the movie were First Manassas, Battle of Fredricksburg, and the Battle of Chanselloresville. They never made a scene of Second Manassas.

  • Critics on Rotten Tomatoes don't know what they're talking about, they're just biased northerners
