@PD3EM Something Pete was trying -- wire bridge for R3, and a 620K resistor between the 0.1F supercap and pin 11 (I think) of the PIC. Supposed to let the power supply run a lot cooler (Which it did.) and improve timekeeping. (Not.) I put it back to the standard configuration, and it works. I'm now losing a couple of seconds per day, instead of 10 minutes per hour....
He's suggested adding a second resistor to the original setup, and I'll likely try that.

I just finished assembly of an identical kit. Fun build.
Are you having any issues with drift? Mine seems to lose 5-10 *minutes* per hour.

@grnbrgb I don't have such drifting problems. Sound like a problem with the Chrystal or its soldering points.

@PD3EM Thanks. I've exchanged some email with PV Electronics, and he's been tweaking the power supply/oscillator circuit. I made a recommended change, which has drastically improved my timekeeping.
I *love* the level of support this seller gives. I'd recommend anyone looking for a nixie kit hook up with him.

@grnbrgb Great it's working much better now! What change did you make?
The support by PV Electronics is great indeed with quick response on emailed questions.
