I know that :) but Beethoven's deafness was acquired through illness; meaning he'd experienced hearing before, and he knew how it sounded. This man up here was BORN blind, and he probably only knew later in life that piano keys were actually white (if he even knew what white was), the piano is black, etc.
There really is no way to compare the two of them though. They're both brilliant.
I completely agree with elixiress..being blind made his talent extraordinary..and that made him of the best pianist. and he'll improve much more..bcoz he's still young..
I am crying and speechless. I have played the piano for 15 years, have 20/20 eyesight, and yet cannot get through the first line of that song... It's actually not just playing the piano or a certain song that is impressive... It's wanting to do something, and doing it. I have absolute admiration for his persistence and strength. Adore the smile on his face at the end.
let's say: I'm improvising about what i'm gonna compose, and i'm doing this with low/no light. it's just a way to listen to the sound itself, without having to watch anything. notation is something different of course, i do it with light.
