This is an arrangement I did last year of a song written by P.F. Sloan in 1965 and made popular by Barry McGuire, it asks a timeless question about the human condition.

I took liberties with the words & video to address some more "contemporary" issues. I have to say with all the strife and pain in the world, this song has been on my heart for a long time.

Please note that this video DOES NOT AT ALL criticize our brave soldiers - the US military is filled with honorable soldiers who protect us every day, many times at the greatest price... some video of these fine Americans are shown here - I am in awe of them and their sacrifice... we as individuals and as a nation are forever in your debt.

Also, while I am saddened by the actions, this video does not condemn those who have suffered or done wrong under the sway of the curses of perversions, prejudices and abortion, or other evils... we have all fallen short of Gods glory, and need His grace and mercy every single day.

What this song DOES ask us is WHY have we have deviated so far from Gods word and instruction of the Holy Bible, and to reflect on the following questions for all of humanity:

1) Why kill the one God says is YOUR BROTHER?
2) Why pervert GODS GIFTS OF LIFE & LOVE?
3) Why hate the sinner INSTEAD OF PRAYING FOR THEM?

My prayer is this video will bring at least a little increase in wisdom and prayer to live to our God-given and intended potential... to do the things that will stop the war; stop abortion; stop prejudice and the religious spirits of false judgement & hypocrisy.

We must stop hating and hurting those created in Gods image.

Blessings in Christ Jesus.

Peace,
Keith Schwartz

peace in the middle east that is what we say in the army it means peace dude lol hahahahha

  • Take care out there man, THANK YOU for your sacrifice in service. I am 48 now and grew up in the '60's when this song first came out... used to see the Veitnam casualty count every night as a kid (they don't do that anymore), and you are spot on: things haven't changed much... and the song Phil Sloan wrote all those decades ago still speaks a lot of truth.

Thanks for stopping by, and may God bless and keep you.

I know this topic is close to your heart, and I am thankful & praying for your husband. He has his mission to fulfill but please please please don't let the situation harden your heart to God's eternal true word: pray the book of Psalms OUT LOUD, pray to King Jesus to stop the evil principalities that would threaten us... they are not originated in flesh and blood, but in the lies of Satan.

  • Simmory33,

When you say "Some men just want to watch the world burn" these are those kinds of people." are you including the innocent THOUSANDS who have also died?

My point is this: IF we realy lived the bible's instruction instead of worshiping the "God of modern mankind" (a violation of the 1st commandment) and PRAYED regularly, humble ourselves and seek His face then God would heal our land. His Holy Word will not return void... it's time we lived it as if it were true, because it is.

  • Simmor33,

Of course there is a need for justice, but heres a real simple FACT: The ones who killed the 3000+ and 343 are ALREADY DEAD.

Should we go after Osama and his murderous ilk? OF COURSE WE SHOULD... should we kill innocent Iraq citizens after lying about weapons of mass destruction to do it?

My answer is "no" - because that's what my bible teaches me about honesty and the sanctity of every human life.

How can we expect muslims to honor the bible as God's word - if we don't?

see all

  • you kill the one God says is our brother, so they don't kill 3000+ of our innocent civillians again, and 343 of NY Bravest. there is no reasoning with the isurgents,

"There are some people that cannot be reasoned with, bought, bribed or corrupted. Some men just want to watch the world burn." these are those kinds of people. we have no more options

God bless the United States of America
