@warchild1942 We have found a treasure,- they have not. Shhhhhh...don`t tell them... ;-)

If there's a thing I like with Arvo Pärt, it's that his music is so profoundly human and intimate that it's not required to believe in anything to be moved by it.

@Cuoin I think when we're talking about how much of the world's population like Paris Hilton, it's more like 0.1% rather than 99%. And I'm happy to entertain the notion that 0.1% of the world's population are trash.
-
@Cuoin He didn't say the world's population was human trash. He said Paris Hilton was trash. LOL
-
on the other hand who is responsible for saying that this piece cannot and/or should not compete with hilton?
perhaps if media giants pushed this, it would obliterate hilton? we could never know because the decisions
made stop something like this from even taking place. so there is a definite human trash component. it just isn,t quite at 99%.

This recording is FANTASTIC.

@GandervimWoopsnagle What a wonderful observation. I wish more people would understand this. It would be a better world if they did.
God bless you.

@Cuoin Based on the wording of the comment to which you are responding, the statement was that Paris Hilton's music is trash, not necessarily the people listening to it.

Touching...
I have never heard about Arvo Part until 18/12/2009, when i met for first time with his music in Rudolfinum, Prague (CZE). Czech Philharmonic Orchestra have played one of his piece :-)
And this one is something special....again :-)
Less than 10000 listeners to this magnificent music, and millions for Paris Hilton's trash. Isn't it disappointing?

I think there is an effective correlation between advertising and global exposure. Arvo Pärt can't really compete with the media coverage Paris Hilton has gotten. I don't think it is fair to generalise 99% of the world's population into human trash because of this.
