Out of my "hibernation" with a short video for a good cause. This is a batch of 18 Okawa shiro utsuris (less than a year old but over 40cm!!) destined for the United States to help out a dealer there whose stock was totally washed out by a natural disaster. Courtesy of a kind benefactor in our region. Brotherhood in koi.

  • Nice fish, can you keep them inside in an aquarium? With goldfish? Where can I find them?

  • @iknowiwill Not recommended to keep them in aquariums though some people do. Good ones can grow up to a metre long. If you live in the US, you can get low grade ones quite cheaply from Pet Smart. Otherwise look for dedicated koi dealers somewhere near you.

  • beautiful shiros bro Paul. I am a fan of Okawa shiro. The only problem is that the tail (odome area) is slow to catch up with the middle and front body. I can see this in half of the kois in the bowl including the best shiro you have picked. Hopefully we can have updates on these kois as they grow. Tq for the video bro.

  • @malaysia1971 @malaysia1971 Captain, I think this is a trait of most shiro utsuris, unfortunately. Not just Okawa ones. Even Omosako shiros have the same tail tube issues. Over time, hopefully the breeders can overcome this problem.

  • THE SIFU IS BACK!!! :) Do keep [osting videos.. i need to see some of your beauties!!

  • @chengaun I'm not a sifu and neither am I really back. This video is one off.
