Saw it at 7 years old fly over New York City in 1961.

Based in my home town "Offit AFB Omaha NE USA " through the 60's. Flew over my home, quite a sight.

no, that record is now held by the B52 during the Gulf War. USA to Iraq to UK if I recall correctly. However, they cheated and had forward positioned tankers.... :p For Black Buck the Vulcan and all the Victors (over a dozen of them!) all left from Ascension and transferred fuel forward between themselves as they went, ending up with one Victor left to refuel on the way back.
So glad she is flying again..........now can we have a Lightning to keep her company please. :)
