  • i learn karate because i want to learn hadouken!!!!

  • It is very humbling to see Higaonna sensei running on the same streets and practicing in the same dojo so many years ago. The streets might be more urbanized today and his dojo floor might be more patchy, but his spirit and smile are still the same.

    OSU!

  • Higoana sensei is so dedicated! I bet he could punch a hole in a wall :-)

  • Master Higaonna is such an inspiration to me. He makes me want to strive for perfection of Mind, Body, and spirit. Perfection doesn't exist but it can inspire us to strive and reach new and advanced heights of achievement. lol I don't know.

    Karate for live! (o_-)

  • @qlateman oh you can learn karate.... Shoryuuuuuken !!!

  • @Datleco There's a HUGE difference between sport karate and traditional karate. People still don't seem to understand that and when they hear karate, they're expecting a ton of flying butterfly kicks and back flips, like the stuff you see on ESPN. That's so far traditional karate it might as well be a different style all together.

  • @Riggro what did him being black have to do with anything???

  • I saw a guy at a bar get knocked out cold by a drunken loser: The MMA guy proceeded to remove his shirt and tease the other guy, the drunk guy swung, the MMA guy grappled him, then without warning, the drunk guy clocked the guy in the jaw knocking him unconscious. (BTW MMA guy was ripped, drunk black guy had a beer gut).

No martial art makes you invincible, any idiot can still fuck you up.

  • @Raymasaki there is huge opposition among the Japanese/Okinawan masters from organizing a karate sport. It was cited as one of the reasons karate did not become part of the olympics...

  • Some folks take it as a sport, others take it as a way of life, I prefer the spiritual enlightenment that comes with martial arts and also follow it as a teaching for life and many ways to live it. It helps expand the mind and helps those understand their body, this in turn makes us one with ourselves and others who believe similar. I personally believe even with the hate, martial arts above all else can help unite our people globally whether it's sport or much more than that.

  • @jobbythehutt Hold up ass hole I wear heavy metal shirts all the time and my favorite fighter is lyoto machida and plus IM a believer in Karate =) and ur right shits not meant for the cage but its nice to see it work in the cage and out in the world

  • @jobbythehutt

what does Music have to do with this?

Lethal? Get Real! many Japanese also want it as a sport & treat it as such.

sumo is a sport & its a Japanese Fighting.
