You may ride, drive, bike, run and walk your L.A. streets, but do you know the history behind L.A. street names?

The Street Names of Los Angeles A History is a series of videos presented by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, featuring historic photographs and documents from the Seaver Center for Western History Research.

Listen to an explanation of the layers of history of El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles since its founding in 1781, and set your eyes on a visual feast of museum images.

When you have concluded watching the six episodes, your new understanding of the city will match your abilities to navigate your daily courses to work, school, play, and even museum-going!

  • ES CIERTO QUE LA CIUDAD DE LOS ANGELES ESTA INFESTADA DE PANDILLAS Y EN ALGUNOS LUGARES ES IMPOSIBLE ANDAR A CIERTAS HORAS, UNO DE ESOS LUGARES EN EL CENTRO DE LA CIUDAD; OTRO ES EL PARQUE MCARTHUR. TRISTEMENTE AREAS DONDE EL POPULI ES MAYORMENTE O EN SU TOTALIDAD HISPANOS. DE CUALQUIER MANERA NO DEJA DE SER UNA CIUDAD HERMOSA Y COSMOPOLITA. MULTICULTURAL Y POLIGLOTA CIUDAD DE LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA.

  • Very well done!!!...thank you for the history of L.A. Very interesting to see how L.A. has changed through the years.

  • Of many of these streets elucidated and identified it is no hidden secret that many of them run through immensely ebbed crime and gang infested environments whereas some of these streets ENTIRELY are symbolic of only such perceptions and understandings. For such reason although not the city of Los Angeles was Compton BLVD. changed from that name to Somerset in the cities of Paramount and Bellflower. Los Angeles in general is a city HISTORICALLY full of corruption.

  • Los Angeles is such a huge wide city.I heard you need a car to go everywhere you want to go,because it's so far away from everything.
