Many armchair experts on Latin America glean info from journalists reporting out of hotel rooms, opinions often dictated by preset political bias. Far from armchairs & hotels, packing camera & recorder, Dix & Fitzpatrick have ridden & hiked bumpy, dusty, risky trails, rafted rivers, camped in the open & in homes throughout Nicaragua to document ravages of wartime, then over a period of 2 decades the aftermath of devastated children’s and adults' lives. The accounts are incredible!
