@ronisha151 Hi Ronisha - I'm the lil' ones mom and there really is nothing you can do for them while they are coughing. Sitting him up is the best thing to do. We had been fighting this horrible thing for over a week and we were trying to get this on film for the Dr since we had taken him in two times already with no answers. We were doing what we could to get him help. This video saved his life. I wasn't just sitting there letting him cough.

My son who's now 3 Thank God caught Pertussis when he was 5 weeks old. He was in the hospital on and off for 4 months. Were thankful he made it through ok as some don't. So scary and heart breaking. My heart goes out to you and every mom, dad, and child this horrible virus has attacked.

Poor kiddo! Hope your kid got better! For those who don't believe in vaccines, ask any doctor/researcher with some credential, they'd say vaccine was the best thing that happened in the medical field other than antibiotics!

it's a bacteria

My son, 2 months has a similar cough to this and i took him in and they said that it was normal to cough, to get any thing in their throat. After seeing this video Im more concern then ever. It breaks my heart to see him coughing so horribly.

I have been dealing with my baby girl (6 months old) doin this for two weeks. I finally had to make a video as well to get something done. We go today to find out whats wrong. I hope your baby is better. God Bless
My son is 4 months old now and we got told he had whooping cough about 5 weeks ago, he is identical to your son here this is how he is, much worse on a night though, but it doesnt seem to be subsiding, how long until your son got better ? thanks xx

@stu82pid It actually takes a long time to go away. It took about 3.5 months for the cough to completely subside. The nights are always worse but definitely the "episodes" will become less frequent and less intense! Hope your lil' guy starts to get better really soon. It's HORRIBLE!!!

@ilikefosters This made me so happy that the video actually helped someone. I'm SOOOOO sorry you're lil' guy caught it as well. I think it's the hardest thing I've had to witness so far as a mother. The cough lasts a while but when he stopped turning blue, I was able to relax a lot more.

thanks for posting this video. This is exactly how my 15 month old coughs, and of course the doctors have no idea why shes been chronically coughing for 2 1/2 months. shes being tested today for "whooping cough"
