King George may not have been the most successfull King, and his late years were darkened by his grim Illness, but from what I read, he seemed to be a very likeable Person and not a squandering Fathead as his Son. Lots of his bad Reputation stems from centuries of American "Propaganda" trying to depict him as a Tyrant, and his unlucky Lack of great personal Achievements to outshine the constant politrical Opposition.
