  • Now you know these people are not Ethiopian by choice, they were colonized. Real Ethiopians are Semetic speaking. These minority groups who make up 3% of the population are not Ethiopians at all! They were forced to be by our great King Menelik II who colonized them. They were enslaved by the Ethiopians and now because of equality they are said to be Ethiopians alsom even though they were colonized.

  • It sounds as if you live in the past. Ethiopia's unique cultural diversity is a credit to the country as a whole and should be embraced and celebrated. Not denied. Frankly I am very surprised by your reaction, also I don't appreciate being publicly accused of being a liar. Some would describe you as a bigot.

  • Ethiopias Regions Addis Ababa* Afar Amhara Benishangul-Gumaz Dire Dawa* Gambela Harari Oromia Somali Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region Tigray
  • The Shekacho people live in Sheka region. Sheka is in southwest Ethiopia in the region called Southern Nations, Nationalities, Peoples and Regions State or SNNPRS. I guess that makes them Ethiopian whether or not you want to admit it.

  • stop lieing man. This aint Ethiopian

  • Those who produced this music are as much Ethiopian as anyone else born and bred in Ethiopia. These songs are traditional Shekacho songs from the Kaffa region. This is 100% Ethiopian music. Just because you have not heard it before, or it doesn't sound familiar to you is no reason to assume it isn't Ethiopian. My advice to you is open your mind to new possibilities..

  • omovalleyculture, Why do you waste your precious time with this fool? He somehow thinks being Ethiopian is such a special thing and reserved for Amharas and Tigres. I guess he doesn't even realize that according to his little mind even the Bole in his nick is not part of Ethiopia. Or, may be he thinks his "great hero" Menelik owned Addis Abeba, too.

  • ...Continued. If we go by his infantile thinking, he will be limited to two dry and desolate regions, namely Amhara and Tigray, where he can't eke out a living from that martial landscape. Let him shove his Ethiopia up his rear end and we have our land and see who's blinks first.

  • These are Shekacho performers from around Masha.

  • omovalleyculture, are the performers Shekacho or Keficho, or are they non-Shekacho performing the dance?

  • this is ethiopian, bolekid; damn, you're ignorant, you should be proud of our rich, diverse culture; you don't speak for all ethiopians

  • This is Eritrea independace day, the dancer are Eritrean (Banana Repablic)

  • As much as I enjoyed this music, I have felt great after I heard great news that Mr. Meles is planning wisely to secure our Port; Assab & Masswa back to us; back to where it it belongs; Ethiopia ! If this news is indeed true, then we all Ethiopians have another great reason to celebrate our Millennium! I tell you, things are on our side; things are going very well!!!

  • Bolekid you are one ignorant fool! These people are just as Ethiopian as you and me!
