@adolphusarthuro It should be standard procedure to SHUT DOWN THE LINE when something like this happens! Especially on LGVs!

I mean, if someone tried that over here (speaking as an ex- mainline railwayman myself) the HSE would not only lynch them but probably put them on a torture rack for a couple of years first... I'd love to know who writes their safety rules over their and whether they are still alive.....XD

1:29 - lol, rolling out the red carpet
but still, could be worse - could have been mid winter or a plane breaking down mid air...
What happened then? The train looks fine to me.

The crazy thin is that they evacuated the passengers in the middle of nowhere; after this, the new TGV pulled the broken one back to Lyon, where it would have been much easier letting the people change from one train to the other...

@viennatramway This happened to my parents on a Eurostar once, and the crazy thing was that once the Eurostar was emptied, the train pulled away and left all the passengers standing by the side of one of the highest speed lines in the world, and then som idiot in the French control room started letting trains through....At on point the staff apparently were franticly trying to radio the control room because there were passengers all over the track and trains were actually passing them at 186MPH.
