Were You There When They Crucified My LORD ? Good Friday Hymn. Anthem arrangement by H.T. Burleigh.

This has always been one of my most Beloved Christian Hymns. It is a Traditional Spiritual Hymn and in this arrangement, I play the First verse in E Flat as a Hymn, Elevate to the Key of G for the next Two verses with a little more movement and nice stop combinations.

When I used to play this on Good Friday, the Church was usually darkened while we sang it and when they turned up the lights, there was not a dry eye in the congregation - it is so moving.

This beloved spiritual always brings a tear to my eye. The first time I heard this in church was by a soloist who sang and lightly strum it on a guitar during communion. One of the most memorable moments in church I've ever experienced. You play this so much nicer than I do. Thank you again.
