A very short overview of how to paint a silk scarf. This example uses the dye-and-resist method, where lines are drawn in gutta to form a pattern and then the dye is allowed to flow freely between them. (Music is by Nancy Tingstad & Eric Rumbel from "Acoustic Garden.")

  • @kittynred: This is actually "ungutta" - a friendlier compound than real gutta. It is water soluble so can be rinsed in hot water. My teacher Joy-Lily sells it.

  • Cool video. Question though: I've read you have to have gutta dry cleaned off. What did you use to remove the gutta?
