There's no more loud, blaring orchestral "WE WILL CONQUER YOU" music in the background. All we get is quiet, depressing elevator music.
Plus, the Ur-quan are just way too friendly in this game.

That voice sounds exactly like a Thraddash.

@ngnikolaos every game developer says that all the time. I highly doubt TFB is working on anything notable - and Activision very rarely keeps secrets.

You can tell more that they did not do the research.. Kohr-Ah sympathizers in the Kzer-Za is ludicrously impossible and lame because it defeats the whole point of them fighting and being two separate factions. Plus that random Dynarri thing thrown in there was a "wtf" moment because it's a question that has no relevance whatsoever to do with anything (plus the Captain left the only thinking Dynarri on the exploding Precursor ship in the last game).

@Shavarnarak In a SC2 fansite the people there were in contact with Paul Reich the 3rd and he promised them that something is in the works that will the gaming community's socks off ... but he didn't clarify whether it was a SC project or not.

Of course far as people calling a hypothetical new SC2 sequel a mass effect clone...
Technically SC2 IS itself actually a Starflight 1 and Starflight 2 clone.

I think the true sad fact is that we'll probably never get a TRUE Star Control 2 sequel. SC2 was from '92, and most people don't know about it. And it was never a household name type franchise either.
However I did recently come across a fan sequel called Project 6014 that looks VERY promising.
But a true SC2, much as it breaks my heart, will probably never happen.

I think maybe they planned to put in the Dnyarri and ruin him too, and you could solve the Kohr-Ah problem by defeating him somehow, and they never put it in.
Kind of like how those Syreen probes seem an orphaned plotline too.
Also a plothole... if Hyperspace doesn't work how could the Kohr-Ah escape? Whereto? Somewhere else in the same solar system? They could still be followed there.

SC3 isn't nearly as "Oh FFFFFF- UR-QUAN ARE HEAR" as SC2
-
such an annoying way to prevent you from building more ur quan ships in the game...:(

The sad part in this whole thing is that when we will be blessed with a new sc game (I still think it will happen), some idiots will come and call it a "Mass Effect rip-off". And then I'll want them to wear an excruciator.
People often have a go at SC3 for many reasons, but my main problem was the fact that the music is so beyond poor against SC2 it's not even funny. It's just some boring, generic MIDI instead of the bombastic, character-defining, memorable music that SC2 had.

That was one of my big problems with SC3 too.

Zor-Ath is a female.

Really? How do you know? :O

During a game when I was trying out new combinations, I spoke to an Ur-Quan colony before I spoke to their Homeworld. They said I should speak to Zor-Ath as she was their leader.

Oh wow, neat! I didn't know that. :O
